Thursday Night Footy on ESPN is dead, well kinda
Instead of getting a Thursday night match on ESPN2 every week, the network will now cover MLS on different nights, with 10 matches on Thursday (the season opener), 6 on Wednesday, 8 on Saturday, and 3 on Friday night. One reason so the league can cover the Galaxy, Chivas and Dynamo more, they all have restrictions on matches during the school week. Like we didn't get enough of the very crappy Galaxy last year, those 3 teams made a combinded 13 appearances on Thursday night.
So if they know when the matches are, why is it that MLS won't release the full schedule. If you know enough to let ESPN set their coverage schedule, you know enough to let the fans know when their teams will play.
