RSL vs. Crapids @ THE DICK 10/25

Postby JUDGE DREDD » Sun Oct 26, 2008 8:16 pm

I wish all of you who did not make this match could have been there!

The play on the pitch sucked..but the fun up in the suite was a blast until we were told we could not bang our drums and that we had to watch our language. I guess it's pretty humiliating when a handful of fans can out sing, chant, and cheer an entire side of the stadium. I really wish I had video of the looks we got once we had the banner up the drums going and all of us singing. Even the Crapids were looking up at the suite trying to figure out what was going on. Very sad to see a community could not fill up the stadium for such a big match, even when they were selling tickets at $10!! Place was very empty for such a match!!
We kept things up for most of the match, and really went crazy when RSL scored...Not long after that the drum was taken away buy the suit who kept harassing us all night. Once the final whistle blew I sprayed my water bottle all over the patio and soon after that was promptly escorted out by three suits. I laughed when they were walking me out...Told them it was ironic that they were kicking out the only sober person in the bunch.
Once the rest of the group came out we sung all the way to the car, getting all sorts of fun responses..and trust me we gave back much better ones.

Back at the hotel we hung with the team in the bar and took pictures with the cup and players. Ian Joy is the fucking man! He hung with us for a good hour or so.

Another great moment was watching Reed push one of those HUGE shopping carts around full of booze.

I had a blast with everyone who made this trip....Looking forward to more away matches!

Anyone grab the Jolly Roger flag last night?..Had it up next to the banner, but never saw it after I got kicked out.

I helped take it down, but wasn't carrying it. Someone who was in the suite has it though.

This was clearly far too fun...After my third trip to the Dick, I can say this was definitely my favorite. It was AWESOME to have so many RCB there...In fairness, though the suite limited our drumming and we spent alot of time dealing with guys in pink ties, we probably would have been kicked out sooner had we been in the lower bowl...I've never had an experience there where the staff/security weren't an issue.

I'm so glad so many of you guys made the trip...the post-game festivities at the hotel were First-Class from the players and coaching staff. And I want to send a special shout out to Judge for capturing some of my more embarrassing moments on this trip.

Time to get ready for the RIOT on Saturday...I think the tailgate might have to be the option for a 4pm game.

Did anyone get a pic of the suite from down on the pitch or from the stands?

during the match (first half I think?) HD net was talking with the cRapids coach. Over his right shoulder you could see the RCB suite with the banners.
I must be the ID10T
