Preseason tourney

Postby rslfutbolfan » Sat Mar 08, 2008 6:38 am

Hi everyone.

Im still out here in South Carolina with my mom who is still in the hospital (3 weeks later). Looks like I am going to be here until opening game. I was just talking with my editor the other day and we realized that next weekend is a big tournament in Charleston between the Charleston Battery, San Jose, Toronto and the Red Bulls. He has asked me to go up to beautiful Charleston (darn haha) and take photos. I was excited...but even more so when I remembered that Jeff C is on Toronto and also came to find out that our dear not so hot or new guy is playing for the Charleston team. I have not been paying attention at all to the player moves during the off season, so for all I know some more of our old players play for SJ or Red Bulls. Anyways, Im happy that I get to see some pre season action and ecstatic that I get to see Jeffy. Im also glad i get to go back up to Charleston, as it is quickly becoming one of my favorite cities. I also got a brand new camera and need some practice time before our first game.

I miss you guys but cant say I miss the snow. It rains a bit here, but its not cold. See you 29 March!

:D

Sounds like a good time, there are a lot of supporters of the beautiful game in the carolinas. Which has always been surprising, considering how popular college basketball is there.

Enjoy the tournament.

Well i must admit, it was wonderful to be out on the pitch again. And it was great to see Cunny and Jack. Charleston has a pretty sweet set u here. The first game was Toronto v San Jose. Jason Hernandez scored for SJ and in the middle of the second half there was a HUGE bolt of lightning and everyone scattered. I think the tornado scare in Atlanta made everyone nervous. They canceled the second game, to be played tomorrow and good thing as we too barely escaped a tornado that touched down 7 miles away. Of course the toronto fans were represented.

I didnt see any other MLS fans in the whole place though...hahaha.

I went to the finale of the Carolina Cup last night. TFC v Charleston and Red Bulls v San Jose. Charleston beat TFC 2-0 hahaha and when I left shortly after halftime (2 hour + drive) San Jose was winning 1-0. Just thought i would share a couple of familiar faces...
