I Do think away supporters get treated like trash by most teams in the league, but honestly very few teams have supporters that travel in any number. Toronto, has the best traveling fans last year and due to the pure volumn of season ticket holders will probably have the same this season.
DC united, travel well on the east coast, but how many screaming eagles or bara brava have we seen in Salt Lake, Denver, or LA? I don't imagine most teams understand the concept of holding a section for visiting fans, they simply want to sell seats. I hope that teams begin to work together and with their supporter groups to offer the ability for fans to travel in support of their teams. Southwest offers cheap air fare, but most clubs can't even figure out how to sell more than 5,000 season tickets.
MLS has to get ownership to the actual club owners, the league as the controlling force of all players, clubs, and activity within the league simply has to end. If players were allowed to have their clubs work on transfers, more players would showcase their skills but as long as the league locks down that freedom for some players, while allowing others to leave. then I don't blame benny for not wanting to sign a MLS contract, he would probably be locked out of going back to Europe should teams come calling.
Oh the league has a very long way to go in order to be considered anything more than a pub league.
